The PS motion platform fully supports the rapid scanning capabilities of Cyberware 3D digitizers. The use of industrial robotics components insures rugged construction and highly precise operation, as well as allowing the platforms to adapt to a wide variety of digitising tasks. Many years of experience with fast 3D digitising have helped Cyberware's technical staff optimise these electromechanical platforms for the widest possible range of uses.

The PS Motion Platform
The PS motion platform was designed to scan the head and shoulders of live subjects quickly, comfortably, and safely. Because the platform moves the digitizer while the subject remains stationary, the PS platform works well in many applications involving subjects that are inconvenient to move during digitising. By doing a section at a time, the platform can scan large objects.

The PS platform is popular for use in medical applications, such as reconstructive and/or plastic surgery. Similarly, designers of products such as helmets, which must fit the human head closely, find the PS platform ideal. The platform also serves well for personal portrait sculpture, in which a person's head is digitised, then reproduced on an automated milling machine with remarkable fidelity.

The PS platform has only one manual adjustment (the digitizer height) and is otherwise completely controlled by software running on a workstation. Cyberware's Echo software provides specific features for controlling the PS platform.

The Motion Platform of Choice
Using the PS motion platform can save you months of development work in creating a customised platform. The motion range of this platform has been chosen to accommodate the vast majority of 3D digitising applications. However, if the standard PS platform does not suit your application for any reason, you can modify the platform easily or have Cyberware do so at the factory.
